American Girl in Italy

I'm so grateful to God for the time I had alone with my thoughts. Traveling alone allowed me a freedom I had never experienced and never experienced since, a freedom many people never know in their entire lives. Forming my own perspective without interruption, distraction, or bias from others was powerful. Everyone traveling alone seemed to appreciate this power. So many conversations with people I'd meet went: 1) How long have you been in Italy? 2) Where have you been? 3) What is your favorite thing you've seen?

For me, the answers will forever be: 1) two months spent all over the country; 2) Verona (a bite-size Roma), with my most memorable time spent on the Amalfi Coast; 3) the altar of Arch-angel St. Michael, in St. Peter's, Rome. Thank you for taking the time to walk with me through my journey. I hope it's encouragement for you to make a journey of your own someday if you do not have your own answers to the above questions.

"Blog" of Dana's Journey

While away, I kept in touch with family and friends by email daily journal. I was "blogging"
before it was cool, who knew?! So many observations and experiences moved me. I've
shared a few of these with you.
